AISU Final E

To a number of members, our union was not doing quite well in the previous year. However, I’m quite satisfied with the performance already, considering so many uncontrollable personal conflicts amongst the people.

Well, it’s never an easy job to start this union as AI’s something new and complex to most of the people in Hong Kong and there’s also deep misconception that AI is just some hard science. We’re not running a business, which should be market-oriented at most of the time. AISU is a dream, of all those who believe in the missions of it and we should always keep in mind the objectives but not the superficial success. An organization like this is never a success when it’s deflecting from its missions, no matter how many people know the name of it.

Despite this I do support Michael’s suggestion that we should consider the market trend, but only in terms of the form of activity.

I recall the words of Oscar Wilde “Ah!  Don’t say you agree with me. When people agree with me I always feel that I must be wrong”

Watched “Phantom of the Opera” at AMC in Festival Walk at night

Haven’t watched any movie for really a long while. Felt good.

Bought a lot of food from the renovated Park’N shop “TASTE” before that. Quite full~~

Met Howard But when I just arrived at Kowloon Tong MTR Station. It should be 3+ years since I met him last time.

26/01/2005

Yum Cha at UST and then went to Lai Chi Kok to get a new palm case.

Called Walter on the way. Well…his tone made people felt it’s like a secret visit to Ying Wa with the other guys. Originally I planned to go home afterwards yet I changed my mind after knowing thier visit to alma mater as I was really close to it.

Stayed there for unexpectedly long but didn’t meet lots of teachers. It’s nice to know that things are fine there, except for the Math Olympaid performance.

Then we went to Cheung Sha Wan for tea and chatted a lot. Totally can’t remember when the last time I met Ying Wa guys other than my year was.

Taught violin as usual. It’s really nice to see the student getting some significant improvement. Hope he can keep it.

Anyway, I’m still a bit stressed for his mother’s expecting him to take violin exam at the end of the year.

Went to Mong Kok and ate something in Hui Lau Shan there. It’s always great to eat. Haha.

Originally wanted to see Chinese doctor today….but the clinic just got its opening ceremony today…errrr…maybe I should go to the Tai Wai one these days.

Then rushed to Wan Chai to get the BR form. Gotta plan carefully for that.

Went to Prince Edward afterwards to quote price. Hope it’s a good try. Then had tea time at a small Taiwanese restaurant near the MTR station. The food tastes good.

Got hired for teaching Olympic Math in Tai Po. Well, the mother was the VP of AIESEC many years ago…How interesting!

UYL reU again~~ wow. never had such frequent reunions since F.7.

Went to HKU for grad photos…I’m the only CU person again.

Well, I went “Yum Cha” with family in the afternoon but it was kinda late this time so I called Stephanie and asked them not to wait for me…and GOSH…I encountered traffic jam and went for ironing my gown so I arrived kinda late. It’s really a pity that I’ve missed some interesting moments.

Hoho we went to the vice chancellor’s house door and shouted “Good evening Professor Tsui”. I suddenly recalled the “children’s day” photo we took before.

We went to the Japanese restaurant Suzuki in CWB and had quite some dishes. It turned out that we all felt like just having appetizer at the cost of $80 per head. So when Samuel and Carol came we switched to a Vietnam restaurant and we were full at last!!

Many people looked tired and left early. It’s my first time ever to see Gary having not really much to say. Anyway, we still had a good time.

Kuji then joined and leaded us to a restaurant owned by his hallmate. The atmosphere and drinks there were quite good. We chatted till 12:xx there about career, life, academic stuff and a lot others.

Errr…seems that my memory is going wrong and I’m not that abreast of news. Gotta watch TV news more often.

Death of Zhao Ziyang

Heard some critics bullshitting around

Got some old photos from Katy and laughed at our “potato” look.

Q: What should a university student do?

A: To watch a 50-something-year-old man carrying luggage and having a hard time to get off the school bus without lending a helping hand, until he has waited enough to get on the bus.

That’s what I saw today in CUHK.

*There’s an important announcement before I start the diary entry.*

To UYL fellows,

I have converted our ANNUAL NEWSLETTER to pdf format (42MB)!!!

Well, it’s almost 4.5 years since the day of completion. I owed so much to Kuji for that he had done most of the editorial work.

I’ll get it printed one day~~

At the moment, it’s downloadable at:

UYL ReU

Samuel

Victor Chan

又是Shooters…

Ivy,Kuji, Samuel,Silvi

Kafka…

You’ve stopped me from me from running and sleeping tonight.

“Metamorphosis” is really interesting. Yet I’m more touched by the critique.

I’m a lucky one… but my friend / friends…

Amongst his masterpieces that I’ve read up till now, I appreciate “In The Penal Colony” the most. It’s really horrifying and especially so when I think about a person who regards such experience the reality. Despite this, it’s an excellent piece of work that the development of the story is so strange and unpredictable, yet fascinating. Another piece that has marked the deepest impression should be “The Judgement”. It actually reveals accurately Kafka’s relationship with his father. Again, my friend appeared in my brain immediately for the story of her father and her…

Haven’t really read, except journals, design magazines and technical books, for quite a long time. Reading makes me feel comfortable and contented. It’s now time to read more. This semester I am relatively free. Gotta pioritize the un-attained ambitions.

01/01/2005
