Flooded by projects and assignments. Still not too motivated to write diary these few days.

Copied from Pat’s Xanga. Share with you guys.

He was 22, and so was she.

They had been together for six years now, both final year students in university.

They shared a very comfortable relationship; he knew what perfume she liked most- and she knew what size boxers he wore.

Every day after school, she would give him a call, talk about the weather, ask him what he had had for lunch, cheer him up if he was in a bad mood.

Every night in bed before he fell asleep he would think of her face and appreciate the fact that, for six years, this beautiful girl still loved him so dearly.

then one day, he met a new girl. *she* was young, pretty and…naive. and most importantly, *she* liked him.

He suddenly felt like he had woken up from a dream, a long dream. He looked at this new friend of his and saw in her eyes a whole new world where he knew he would have a lot of fun and excitement. he suddenly had this urge to go on a roller coaster ride…

He looked back, and decided to let go.

I asked him why.

“I don’t want to waste any more of her time. She doesn’t have many ’22-yr-old’s to spare….she’s not the one I want to marry…right now, I want to have fun.”

i stood there staring at him, speechless. “it takes a lot for a girl to stay with somoene for 6 years. so much…

he shrugged.

….

hai….

will men ever understand? is love so selfish it blinds you so you cannot see the hurt and damage you do to other people- esp. people that love you ever so dearly?
